Brand Manager
Position purpose:
You will be mainly responsible for the selected JTI brands. You will be responsible for supporting business cases and detailed marketing & commercial plans for potential product launches. You will contribute to building and executing commercial and marketing strategies of the selected category, and translate brand strategies into plans by developing brand programs for the designated category. You will steward brand equity for selected brands, and identify and introduce the relevant consumer propositions. You will be in regular contact with JTI global brand management, and global/local communication agencies and closely collaborate with other members of the M&S function to ensure consistency.
The position will be based in Istanbul and will be reporting to the Senior Brand Manager within the Marketing Department.
What will you do – responsibilities:
LAUNCH STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
- Support the Special Project manager to develop a business case and detailed marketing & commercial plan for product launches: ensure effective analysis and summaries on key consumer trends and market conditions. Monitor closely the brand evaluation metrics (brand awareness, perception, and brand equity) to highlight potential issues and opportunities and provide a robust business case
- Preparation of portfolio assessments in line with the market trends, gaps & opportunities before the business case, discussing it with the Management Team, and alignment before business case
- Collaboration with the Strategic Insights Team for the research plans before the business case and having the results ready for the business case supporting launch recommendations and actions
- Work closely with Finance and Global Supply Chain Teams for financial analysis and assessments for required investments
BRAND MANAGEMENT
- Support Senior Brand Manager to contribute to Annual Strategic Plan delivery: ensure effective analysis and summaries on key consumer trends and brand performance and plans
- Monitor closely the brand evaluation metrics (brand awareness, perception, brand equity, and commercial KPIs) to highlight potential issues and opportunities and provide recommendations for specific actions
BRAND & PORTFOLIO
- Support Senior Brand Manager in developing and executing strategic plans for defined categories in full alignment with Management, HQ and Region
- Supervise management and development of a portfolio, including new product development, optimization, and brand building
- Work in close collaboration with other key functions to ensure alignment on brand initiatives
- Liaise very closely with HQ BG providing input on local needs and ensuring that brand and Marketing excellence guidelines are implemented when developing programs
NPD & NEW LAUNCHES
- Manage the new product development and launch processes of all brands under his/her responsibility
ONE TEAM
- Support & train new team members about new product development processes, fully supporting them to get familiar with internal
- Support and coordinate new team members in the execution of launch plans, in their respective responsibilities and projects
Who are we looking for – requirements:
- University degree
- MBA or equivalent educational background (preferred)
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience in FMCG marketing, trade marketing, and/or sales functions
- Experience in category management
- Excellent command of written, and spoken English. Effective use of digital and software packages
- Analytical and strategical thinking, good commercial and sound business understanding
- Proven experience in financial planning budget follow-up and reporting
- Proven experience in working and managing global, and local agencies and 3rd party suppliers
- Good knowledge of legislation, external relations, understanding of marketing standards in the tobacco industry, competitive intelligence & assessment
