The Senior Project Manager is the professional accountable for the execution of the business backlog for the Control Solutions & Services Product Line under the Gas Power business for GE Vernova, reporting directly to the Regional Operations Director. On this role, the Senior Project Manager is accountable for delivering the Contribution Margin (CM) and Revenue related for the projects under management as well as owning the financials and operational metrics for such execution.
In general aspects, responsible for planning, leading, organizing and motivating the cross-functional project team working on turbine controls upgrades.

The Senior Project Manager is the professional accountable for the execution of the business backlog for the Control Solutions & Services Product Line under the Gas Power business for GE Vernova, reporting directly to the Regional Operations Director. On this role, the Senior Project Manager is accountable for delivering the Contribution Margin (CM) and Revenue related for the projects under management as well as owning the financials and operational metrics for such execution.
In general aspects, responsible for planning, leading, organizing and motivating the cross-functional project team working on turbine controls upgrades.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Owner and accountable for the entire execution for the assigned projects and contracts under NC backlog, delivering planned revenue and CM, working close with supporting functions such as supply chain and engineering, overseeing team aligned under project/contract.
  • Manages the Project Schedule at the top level and applies solutions to both leading and lagging situations, unforeseen and predicted.
  • Utilizes Project Management Methodology (PMBoK) in daily working practice, additionally encouraging team members by example.
  • Performs as Single Point of Contact with customers, nurtures the relationship, acts as contract manager and ensures Project Communication Plan is in place and functional across all levels and areas of the project. Handle the Wing-to-wing process, from purchase order receipt through commissioning; resolving specification issues; handling correspondence; providing periodic updates; ensuring customer satisfaction; negotiating with for customer-requested changes (price and delivery); arranging witness tests; managing contract and terms; collecting accounts receivables and closing out project.
  • Creates, modifies, improves Project Execution Plan and all parts such as Risk Management, Communications, Sourcing, Vendor Management, Schedule, Quality, Stakeholder Matrix, Data Management, Readiness Plan, Performance Improvement Plan and so on.
  • Managing and reporting all financial aspects of the project including budgets, costs, margin, invoicing, and receivable collection while promoting change orders and providing estimate-at-completion forecasts.
  • Developing and maintain project schedule and critical control points through collaboration across all functions on major milestones and task completion dates.
  • Directing and administer project-related activities using QMS procedures.
  • Facilitating project closeouts, pre-mortem discussions and Project Review meetings.
  • Providing daily engagement. leadership and direction to other functions within the project team to ensure an alignment on project goals and deliverables for project success.
  • Implementing continuous improvement for processes impacting the organization by developing and suggesting enhancements while maintaining productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitoring project progress closely to update key stakeholders including identification and timely communication of project risks to management teams.
  • Influence decision making and problem solving across cross-functional teams to develop an inclusive win-win solution for customer and the organization.
  • Understanding key manufacturing, supply chain and engineering processes with a strong background in turbine and generator control technologies.
  • Performs continual Project Reviews, with customer, Company Leadership, Internal Project Staff, Contracted Parties and potential Industry or Official Bodies. Participates in PEER reviews, After Action Reviews and any investigations as required.
  • Utilizes proficient networking and touchpoints in a matrix organization in order to ensure sufficient and effective use of supporting resources for the project from the wider organization.
  • Leads all elements of the project, safely and efficiently towards increasing profitability through On Time Delivery, Performance Improvement, and Incremental Revenue through upsell strategies, additional pull through of additional products or services.
  • Actively participate in commercial and sales proposal development process (ITR, R1 and R2) to support the progress of the sales opportunities; follow through the execution plan to retrieve lessons learn into the organization.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience with turbine and compressor controls platforms, Distributed Controls System (DCS) platform, Cybersecurity, Excitation, Mechanical and Instrumentation.
  • Experience working with large size EPC projects, with Turnkey solutions, contract management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in projects management role, and 12 years in the industry sector.
  • SAP Enterprise Software experience.
  • Strong business and operations acumen and commercial savvy;
  • Strong customer mindset;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Willingness and ability to travel within assigned region;
  • Ability to manage effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
  • Effective team contributor and member;
  • Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions;
  • Fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish;
  • MBA and PMP are preferred
  • Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Bachelor´s degree in Engineering is preferred;
  • Track record executing projects for the following markets: Oil and Gas, Power Generation and Energy.
  • Strong preference for this role to sit onsite in Campinas/SP - Brazil.
