The Immunoassay Reagent Formulation Supervisorfor Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the manufacturing activities within the Immunoassay department ensuring high quality, safe and efficient Reagent kits are produced.
This position is part of the Immunoassay team located in Lismheehan, O'Callagahan's Mills, Co. Clare and this position is on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Immunoassay team and report to the IA/BV Value Stream Manager.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Supervise Daily Activities of the Immunoassay reagent Formulation Department
- Adapt Formulation plans to address resource and operational challenges.
- Ensure Safety is prioritized within the formulation Department, closing safety actions quickly and ensuring that associates operate in a safe working environment.
- Supervise and Communicate with Direct Reports daily & weekly to ensure Department needs and Development opportunities are being maintained.
- Monthly Team meetings with department team
- Set Daily/Weekly & Monthly priorities with the teams to ensure that the required formulation schedules & assigned KPI’s are being met.
- Represent the Department at cross functional meetings as required.
- Liaise with Planning, Technical Operations, and QC/QA departments to ensure that materials are available to ensure batch manufacture per agreed schedules.
- Complete Change controls, NC investigations and deviations where required to ensure that compliance is maintained.
- Drive Continuous Improvement Culture within the department - Lead problem solving activities such as Kaizens, DIVE’s and PSP’s
- Maintenance, attendance and presentation at Daily Management boards
- Ensure that the formulation department is QSM compliant and audit ready with no moderate or major findings.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in a science discipline with 2+ years’ experience OR Master’s degree with 1+ years’ experience
- Formulation Production Supervisors must have experience in Laboratory equipment and must have a good working knowledge of laboratory techniques, conjugation experience desirable but not essential.
- Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, requires minimum supervision.
- Proven ability to lead a team to deliver strong performance across department KPIs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Use of Oracle or an Equivalent ERP system is an advantage.
- Strong Quality Systems knowledge and experience of interacting with auditors is desirable.
- Demonstrated application of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma/Certified Kaizen leaders in DBS and demonstrated capability in problem solving skills.
