Roles and Responsibilities:
- Schedule Management: Responsible for the developing schedule adhering to Hydro Management System & Project Planning Process guidelines, ensuring a high level of quality and accuracy of schedule coordination and execution supervision. Ensures project implementation as well as work packages and constraints are accurately integrated into Project Planning scenario.
- Responsible for monitoring progress and producing accurate projections. Ensures other functions have access to accurate current reports and projections and relevant reports are available for the customer. Set-up or participate to the coordination meetings with functions.
- Responsible for providing regular update on the schedule with visibility on tasks to be performed in the next 3 – 6 weeks, risks in schedules, including mitigation actions and opportunities in the schedule and reporting on schedule performance metrics like OTD and Say-Do.
- Provide relevant reports to the Project Management team/ Prepare for Project Review Meetings to ensure the project team has all the tools required to make the right decisions.
- Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering/Math/Science degree preferred) or equivalent knowledge
- Proven experience in Project Planning domain
- Strong expertise in planning of a large project as well as use of the Primavera P6 planning tool & MS project tool
- Strong knowledge of / experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Ability and ownership to drive improvements and change with tangible results
- Aptitude to work in a global environment and matrix organization
- Fluent in English
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in the Energy industry / Hydropower projects is a strong plus
- Clear thinking: Ability to understand the status of a project and link the schedule to the reality of the execution.
