Product Cost Engineer
Profile
- Lead, coordinate and report Target Costing and Target Cost Achievement for mandated projects.
- Support Sales with Cost Disclosure incl. Cost Breakdowns in front of the ZF customers.
- Proactive responsible for Design-to-Cost-, Cost-Down-Initiatives (e.g. workshop moderation), and commercial evaluation of technical concepts/designs.
- Provide Cost transparency on Project/Product level by monitoring, reporting, and forecasting for Design-to-Cost/Target Cost Achievements
- Support Benchmarking support tear-down workshops with commercial evaluations.
- Create, check, and provide Product (and component) Cost calculations on Best Practice level.
- First Cost Engineering contact for consulting support, and interface/sparring partner of internal stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Operations, Purchasing & Engineering).
- Develop best practice procedures and creation of knowledge database.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/Engineering/Business Engineering/Industrial Engineering
- 3 years plus of experience in similar roles.
- Distinct cost awareness and good knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes and components.
- Project Management experience with a holistic process understanding and a structured way of working.
- Strong communicator, flexible, self-motivated and with an ability to work collaboratively with others on own initiatives.
- Fluent in English. Additional languages preferred
