This position is based in Istanbul, Türkiye and reports to Senior Director Clinical Medical Regulatory (CMR), BAMEAC.

 

The position

As a Senior Medical Manager, CVD &MASH, you will be responsible for building strong scientific foundation and leading strategic direction for CVD/MASH across BAMEAC in alignment with global medical and business strategy. You will work in a matrix approach and ensure continuous development of Medical Affairs CVD & MASH capabilities across BAMEAC, also you will be leading and guiding pre-launch medical initiatives. Moreover, you will develop and implement initiatives to enhance medical affairs competencies across BAMEAC.

The other responsibilities will be

  • Providing medical affairs expertise, leadership and consultancy to key internal stakeholders to ensure business and scientific opportunities are identified and properly addressed in CVD & MASH
  • Liaising with commercial counterparts on evidence planning/generation for CVD/MASH in line with medical and commercial priorities
  • Being in liaison with relevant professional associations, including congress activities in support of Novo Nordisk presence in the CVD/MASH area
  • Providing guidance and training internally to support capability building concerning CVD/MASH in the BA/Affiliates
  • Seeking opportunities and advising to obtain understanding and shaping of the market and patient pathways within CVD/MASH

 

Qualifications

You are medical doctor with at least 5-7 years of experience preferably in the field of cardiovascular medicine: CVD, cardiology, dyslipidaemia, or working with cardiologists either from pharmaceutical industry or medical practice. Having a regional/affiliate experience and at least 5 years of experience in medical affairs in pharmaceutical industry would be plus. You have excellent command over both written and spoken English. Further sought-after skills are:

  • You have a solid understanding of the role of medical affairs in pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs tools and activities
  • You have a thorough understanding of drug development/LCM principles and processes, medical and scientific aspects of contemporary treatment options of CVD
  • You are a business acumen who is capable to connect medical affairs, commercial priorities and regulatory requirements
  • You have the experience of working in cross cultural teams and cross organisational stakeholder management

As a person you have excellent medical communication skills, passion for improving the lives of people living with serious chronic diseases. You are confident and mature to work independently and, in a team, and have agility to navigate within ambiguity and complexity. You are able to initiative, drive, persist, and are agile in actions. You have influencing skills and ability to impact organizations in a matrix model.

 

About the department

BAMEAC (Business Area Middle East, Africa and CIS) a part of Region SEEMEA (Southeast Europe, Middle East & Africa); is a vast region that includes 73 countries with 1000 employees. The business area office is in Istanbul.
