We have an impressive opportunity as a Senior RareDisease Marketing and Marketing Operations Manager, who will be supporting the implementation of marketing strategies across the Business Area by acting as a key partner to BAMEAC (Business Area Middle East, Africa, and CIS) countries. You will also generate key business insights to improve business processes and outcomes. This position is based at the Business Area office in Istanbul, Türkiye, and reports to the BAMEAC Marketing and Commercial Effectiveness Director.

 

The Position

The Senior RareDisease Marketing and Marketing Operations Manager role has two aspects. As a Rare Disease Marketing Manager, you will oversee the successful implementation of Rare Disease Marketing strategies across our business area. While doing this, you will also be responsible for supporting the competency and community building of commercial teams across BAMEAC. It is expected that you will closely collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders from the Business Area leadership team, Business Unit Heads from affiliates, medical, and commercial teams.

Marketing Operations aims to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing efforts by streamlining workflows, improving collaboration, and leveraging data and technology to enable our brands to go to market and drive the next phase of business growth. In addition to being responsible for Rare Disease Marketing, you will also be leading key strategic processes across the Commercial Affairs and Strategy (CAS) Team to maintain seamless coordination across the team and other relevant stakeholders.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Support the development of Rare Disease Marketing strategies in line with portfolio priorities and resource allocation.
  • Support affiliate launch preparations and act as a value-adding partner to secure launch readiness.
  • Contribute to key business processes such as strategic planning, budget planning, business reviews, and long-term forecasting with close interaction with the management team and key stakeholders.
  • Generate key business insights to improve business processes and outcomes by providing up-to-date analysis on market dynamics.
  • As the Key Point of Contact, coordinate and lead Game Planning (Strategic Planning), Brand Tactical Planning, Anchored Budget Organizational Development Planning, Strategy Day preparation, Customer Engagement Programs, and Competency Building activities.

 

Qualifications

You are an experienced marketing professional and should have at least 7 years of proven experience in pharmaceutical Marketing and product life cycle management. It is expected that you hold a bachelor's degree or a master's degree in a relevant subject. Having at least 2 years of marketing experience in Rare Diseases of hematology or endocrinology is an asset.

You have excellent command of both written and spoken English and have a relevant business background.

  • Proven success in brand strategy, marketing campaigns, roll-out, and portfolio management.
  • Strong business drive with customer-centricity, business acumen, and a commercial mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, effective time management skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical capability and an ability to synthesize insights, create focus, and eagerness to learn and influence the organization to move forward.
  • Experience and a proven track record in developing digital marketing strategies and implementing successful campaigns with an entrepreneurial approach.
  • A high degree of self-motivation, collaboration, accountability, flexibility, and a sense of responsibility.

 

About the Department

BAMEAC (Business Area Middle East, Africa and CIS) is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s operations in 73 diverse countries with a combined population of around 1.3 billion people.

From our Business Area office in Istanbul with around 40 colleagues from different nationalities, we guide and provide functional support to affiliate General Managers and more than 1000 colleagues. More than 4 million patients already depend on our medicines and the unmet need for prevention and improved care remains very large across BAMEAC.
