Overview of position | To support the government’s efforts & in line with the principles & targets of the Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), National Development Plan 9 (NDP9) & the charter of the United Nations (UN), our client in Somalia jointly with UN Women partners with the Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development (MoWHRD) to implement the initiation plan activities for persons with disabilities. These are aimed at addressing the discriminatory practices & barriers to development faced by persons with disabilities & empowering them to be actively involved in decision making processes about policies & programs, including those directly concerning them. The main outputs of this current project includes the goal to reduce the stigma & discrimination against people living with disabilities especially women & girls with disabilities through evidence based interventions & changed attitudes & behaviour of rights holders & duty bearers. |
Role objectives | It is in this context that our client in Somalia is recruiting a Monitoring, Reporting & Communications Consultant to provide monitoring, reporting & communications support for project visibility to the persons with disability project & the police project & related components of the rule of law portfolio. The Monitoring, Reporting & Communications Consultant will report to the ROL & Security Portfolio M&E Officer. Expected output include but are not limited to:

Project reporting | The consultant will provide monthly reports on activities implemented & results achieved. The Portfolio Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Specialist will monitor the progress through bi weekly update meetings. |
