About the Team: The Product Engineering team at ZF Marysville are the main technical experts for the plant specific drive and beam axles. This includes managing program management changes, design changes, prototypes, and all warranty & durability design investigations. The NVH Engineer for this role will support axle production engineering and all acoustic and NVH related engineering functions. In addition, be the lead for the NVH Investigation team to drive change, reduce axle fallout while continuously improving acoustic quality.
What you can look forward to as a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Daily reporting of NVH fallout summary to MRY team. Research and assist in resolution of NVH issues with customers and facilities; respond to issues arising during all phases of program.
- Track PDCA items related to fallout and follow up to task owners on progress.Lead weekly/daily NVH fallout related meetings identifying/reviewing open tasks from PDCA.
- Interact with supervisors, team leaders, operators, and PQE’s to validate that NVH procedures are followed. Attend weekly support meetings for shop floor management and NCC scrap cost reviews.
- Perform and report statistical analysis of NVH fallout using quality management tools. Identify negative or positive trends based on NVH parameters. QDM, PowerBI, Acomin, and PowerApps.
- Monitor reference axle performance for all NVH end of line testers. Use QDM and excel tracking sheets. Report out if there is a negative trend.
- Support the regional business unit production plants as resident NVH expert in all aspects regarding the EoL-NVH-test of the product assemblies, including limit setting via correlation between test-bench and vehicle as well as production-related investigations in terms of quality issues, process-changes, or launch of new variants.
- Represent ZF Engineering to customer staff as NVH liaison and provide support and solution for acoustic related problems regarding our product in general, and how our product reacts in the customer vehicle.
- Assist in analyzing the internal and external standards; assist in developing test apparatus, methods, and procedures to meet requirements. Assist in the specification, design, and training related to NVH testing apparatus and methods.
Your Profile as a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required. Other Bachelor degrees in related field will be considered when combined with significant related experience.
- Experience Requirements: Entry level
- Understanding of NVH tools and methods, both hardware and software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software and related testing software
- TS16949 awareness training
- Preferred experience providing program management support through NVH engineering activities
- Preferred knowledge of 5S and Six Sigma problem-solving methodology
- Preferred 2+ years of experience with drive-axle technology
