As a Business Development Specialist for Electrification Business Area in Shinagawa, Japan, you will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive understanding of local market and competitive environment and support local business management team in identification and realization of business opportunities in line with global strategies, resulting in contribution to maximizing sales volume, profitability, and ABB brand value for assigned business.The local legal entity of this position is ABB K.K.

Business Development Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Participating in the development of Business Development initiatives to penetrate JP market and create long-term plans. Taking the lead on the segment strategy you have been assigned
  • Achieving each initiative targets and budgets through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed
  • Assessing market trends, structure, customers, competitors, industries, applications and country analyses to identify and realize opportunities with existing and potential new customers within the target initiatives
  • Providing feedback to the Business area for Asian Pacific/Global Product Groups on market trends, competitive landscape, market-pricing expectations, and local conditions to win
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders and other decision makers. Communicating with line Manager and colleagues to build trust with key customers and get to know customer’s organization. Acting as focal point for Plans, facilitates and conducts customer negotiations
  • Developing, maintaining and sharing detailed knowledge of the customer’s business strategy, purchasing behavior, organization, decision-makers, customer business drivers, economic trends, and competition
  • Coordinating the use of internal or external resources (e.g., technical, advertising, and marketing) in order to providing value added services to accounts
  • Finding and secure opportunities for each initiatives and take over it to Channel Sales Group accordingly. Business Development Group and Channel Sales Group will communicate closely and respond flexibly to expand local business
  • Entering all relevant sales data into appropriate databases systems

Your background

  • Basic Theoretical with 5+ years of experience for working industrial segment
  • Understanding on importance of Integrity, Health, Safety and Environment
  • JLPT N1 level of Japanese language
  • Fare in English for business conversation, Good in English reading and writing
