ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Global hunger has reached alarming levels in 2022, and WFP, the Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2020, remains dedicated to addressing this global food crisis. To enhance the efficiency and impact of our global initiatives, WFP is relocating key corporate functions within procurement and supply chain from its headquarters (Rome, Italy) to the UAE. The UAE, chosen for its strategic location, stability, advanced infrastructure, markets, expertise, and innovation, is hosting the newly established Global Supply Chain Support Center.
Dubai Procurement Centre: In Dubai, the Global Supply Chain Support Center is responsible for two key Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities. This position will personally handle the SRM activities at the global level for five domains: premises rent & utilities (Domain 3), construction & engineering services (Domain 4), safety & security (Domain 5), NFI transport, warehousing, and handling (Domain 14), and vehicles and spare parts (Domain 15).

DUTY STATION (City, Country): Dubai, UAE
 

DURATION:                                   12 Months with a possibility of extension
 

SALARY:                                       Salary starts from AED 32,255.04 per month plus medical insurance.
 

 

Reporting to the Global SRM Manager P4 (Leading the SRM unit in UAE), the Global SRM Officer (G&S) will be responsible for:


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

•    Understand the WFP Clients’ needs, challenges, and opportunities within assigned domains.
•    Conduct hands-on, comprehensive global market analyses to identify emerging trends and identify potential vendors offering innovative products, solutions, and services in relevant domains.
•    Seek, identify and evaluate new vendors offering relevant Goods and Services, optimizing the supply chain in alignment with WFP's mission.
•    Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors globally, fostering collaboration to enhance supply chain efficiency.
•    Oversee the procurement registration processes for new vendors, offer support as required to ensuring a positive vendor experience throughout each step of the registration process.
•    Collaborate with internal client units, fostering awareness and curiosity about new and innovative products, solutions, and services available in the market.
•    Stay informed about market trends, innovations, and emerging solutions relevant to non-food items, contributing to strategic decision-making.
•    Undertake additional duties as required. 

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Education: University degree in a relevant field, preferably in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, international business law or other relevant field. CIPS 2 certificate is a requirement. 
 

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Supplier Relationship Management or a related field within a global procurement context.
Language: Proficiency in English. Multilingualism is an asset to engage with different contractors at global level.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

•    Strong analytical skills to conduct comprehensive market analyses and identify strategic opportunities.
•    Proven personal ability to evaluate, source and engage with vendors, optimizing the supply chain strategically.
•    Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal client units and vendors at global level.
•    Market Trends Awareness, innovations, and emerging solutions in the non-food items domains assigned to the UAE Office.
