WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Assisting the Production Manager: Thisinvolvessupportingtheproductionmanager in planning, organizing, andoverseeingproductionprocesses. This can includetaskssuch as scheduling, resourceallocation, andcoordinationwithotherdepartments.
SupervisingProductionStaff: TheAssistant Production Managerwill supervise production teams and specific production lines. This will includeproviding guidance, training, and supporttoensurethatproductiongoalsare met efficientlyandsafely.
Ensuring Quality Control: Responsible for monitoring production processestoensurethatproductsmeetqualitystandards. This can involveimplementingqualitycontrolprocedures, conductinginspections, andaddressinganyissuesthatarise.
Troubleshooting and Problem-solving: Need to be able toidentifyandresolveproblemsthatariseduringproduction, such as equipmentmalfunctions, supplyshortages, orproductiondelays.
MaintainingSafetyStandards: Ensuring a safeworkingenvironment is crucial in productionsettings. AssistantProduction Manager will be involved in implementing safetyprotocols, trainingstaff on safetyprocedures, andaddressinganysafetyconcerns.
Optimizing Efficiency: Will be responsible improve production efficiency byidentifyingareasforimprovement, implementingprocessenhancements, andfindingwaystoreducewasteorstreamlineworkflows.
Reportingand Documentation: Assistant Production Manager will maintain production records, prepare reports on productionperformance, andcommunicatekeymetricstomanagement.
Collaboration with Other Departments: Responsibility to collaborate with other departmentssuch as engineering, maintenance, andlogisticstocoordinateactivitiesandensuresmoothoperationsthroughouttheproductionprocess.
Continuous Improvement: Assistant Production Manager willparticipate in continuous improvementinitiativesaimed at optimizingprocesses, reducingcosts, and increasing productivity over time.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as industrial engineering, operations management, business administrationor a related field is often required.
Expected to have at least 2-3 years of experience in a production environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
Basic technical skills related to the specific production processes are essential. This might include familiarity with manufacturing equipment, production scheduling software, inventory management systems, and quality control procedures.
Strong communication skills are necessary for effectively coordinating with production staff, other departments and management.
Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.
Knowledge or certification in lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies is often preferred.
Experience in project management, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects from inception to completion, can be advantageous in overseeing production processes and implementing process improvements.
Experience participating in or leading continuous improvement initiatives within a production environment demonstrates a proactive approach to optimizing processes and driving operational excellence.
Familiarity with the specific industry or production processes relevant to the company's operations can be beneficial.
Training or certifications in workplace safety practices and regulations, such as OSHA certifications, are often preferred, particularly in industries with hazardous working environments.
