Purpose
Room to Read India seeks to engage an experienced and creative Graphic Designerwith excellent communication skills to join our team on a consultancy basis. The selected candidate will play a key role in enhancing our visual brand identity and supporting various design projects. This document outlines the scope of work for the Consultant Graphic Designer position.
Position Overview:
The Consultant Graphic Designer will be responsible for providing expert design solutions, contributing to the development of visual assets, and collaborating with internal stakeholders. This includes but is not limited to:
- Applying advanced graphic design skills to create visually striking materials.
- Developing and maintaining a consistent brand identity across various platforms.
- Leading the creation of user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for web
- Collaborating with internal teams to understand project objectives and requirements.
- Effectively articulating design concepts and strategies.
- Engaging with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Meeting tight timelines while maintaining the creative streak
Key Responsibilities:
- Create purposeful, clean designs that enhance messaging while displaying a wide range of information.
- Materials designed to be engaging, educational, and relatable.
- Provide expert graphic design services for a range of projects.
- Lead the development and implementation of visual design strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet project objectives.
- Communicate design concepts clearly to both design and non-design stakeholders.
- Receive and integrate feedback to refine and improve design deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field.
- Proven track record with 2-4 years of relevant work experience as a Graphic Designer.
- Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the
- web
- Impressive portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects, especially in the development sector.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English and Hindi verbal and written communication.
- Excellent eye for detail
- Experience working in the international nonprofit in education sector highly preferred.

Duration and Compensation:
- The consultancy is expected to last 10 months – renewable subject to performance
