Beauty & Wellbeing (B&W) is a key strategic area for Unilever, with an ambitious growth agenda in the Middle East Turkey region (MET). The  business in MET is highly competitive, innovative and has strong brand positions with brands such as Sunsilk/Elidor, Dove, Tresemme, Clear, Vaseline and Ponds. The Business Unit Deploy Team is responsible for all go-to-market R&D activities for the MET portfolio, including launching new technologies, extending existing ranges, as well as supporting Supply Chain. The team works closely together with the R&D Business Groups (Hair and Skin Care), and other functional teams such as Brand Development, Supply Chain, and Procurement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone to join the team, to fill the position of B&W Packaging Lead. This is a senior role, with the primary purpose to lead the B&W packaging programme in MET, focusing on Packaging Development, sustainability, and delivering non-innovation projects (5S) OTIF to drive profitable growth to brands in the cluster. As part of the program management part of this role, the manager will be a key member supporting the decision making process for the region. With his/her team, manage the key interfaces with the Business Group (global R&D), Supply Chain, Procurement and Sourcing Units. This person must have a high level of autonomy to make decisions on projects and lead discussions with the category teams and stakeholders both global and local, many times on behalf of the director.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

The position requires strong people and project leadership, and stakeholder management. Main accountabilities include:

  • Leading the Packaging Development for the MET B&W programme, both innovations and non-innovations (5S, Supply Chain support, material resilience programmes, sustainability initiatives).
  • Partnering with multiple global and regional stakeholders for each project to ensure OTIF delivery.
  • Constantly strive for improved ways of working, optimised delivery and superior products
  • Lead identification and execution of relevant technical capability building (including packaging excellence) and people development.
  • Lead the B&W packaging team; manage and develop up to 6 direct reports.
  • Represent R&D in discussions with global/regional/local stakeholders, many times on behalf of the director
  • Pro-active and engaged contributions to the Business Unit Leadership team

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering discipline.
  • At least 5-7 years relevant working experience
  • Proven track record on project delivery on FMCG, Packaging Development and assessment; test methodologies; project management; team leadership; strategy development and change management.
