Accountant Specialist

Our squad covers all activities of Allianz Benelux and is a cross-functional and regional team. We are responsible for Accounting closings and reporting to the Group, the Board of Directors and to the regulators. We’re in charge of the accounting aspects in M&A operations and bring expertise to the Finance Direction. We ensure compliance in all accounting activities performed in other parts of the organization (Life, P&C and Investments).

As an Insurance Accountant Specialist, you ensure appropriate accounting treatment in all data produced by other Eco-systems and needed for reporting and financial statements delivery. You’re responsible for Annual Financial Statements and reporting in Locaal GAAP. You will be SPOC for external Auditors and participate in M&A operations.

You have a Master degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent by experience? Check! Track record in Insurance Accounting topics and responsibilities? Check! Proven experience in an Analytical Accounting and Reporting role? Check! Strong knowledge of BEGAAP and IFRS (mainly 9 and 17) standards? Check! You’re fluent in Dutch with good knowledge of English? Check! People describe you as pro-active with a pragmatic attitude? Check! You communicate easily with different stakeholders, from Board of Management to your direct colleagues? Check! Experience with SAP and/or Data tools (Power BI) are considered a big plus. Finally, you are willing to grow in your job and take more responsibilities on a longer term? Check! Double check!

We count on you for the following tasks:

• Ensure qualitative Financial Statements of Allianz Benelux, Allianz Nederland Group and Allianz PPI. This includes :
  • Balance sheet review, justification and checking of the different balance sheet positions (audit approach)
  • Act as a SPOC for the External Auditors
  • Preparation for the timely annual delivery
• Responsible for supporting the accounting Referent Expert (Chapter Lead) in all his activities:
  • Defining accounting rules (under the several ledgers) to be followed
  • Ensuring compliance of the activities
  • Take the lead on accounting topics for M&A operations
  • Understand the impact of different disciplines and make the link with the accounting consequences in order to provide correct and understandable figures
• Ability to switch between multiple accounting regimes, and translating the key concepts to provide business-relevant insights for Allianz
• Streamline less efficient processes and support more digital tooling & mindset within the squad
